Three Social Media trends to follow in 2023

Find your niche

Sometimes, as Community Managers,  we try to reach as many people as possible, believing that this will be beneficial for our business. But the opposite ends up happening, and diluted content is created without interest and with which will be difficult for our target audience to connect and feel identified.

For this reason, you must find the perfect niche for your brand, that will reach people who might be interested in your content and end up interacting with it. At the end of the day, your goal should be "create communities" that value you, trust you and enjoy what you do.

Furthermore, on social platforms like Tik Tok, it is especially important to find your niche and stick to it. The algorithm will recognize your profile and categorize it on a certain way and will show this content to users who have previously viewed similar videos to yours. If you create content that is not very cohesive, the algorithm will be confused not knowing which users would enjoy that content and will end up showing your TikToks to a smaller number of people.

Get into memes

Memes have been circulating on the web for many many years, the main difference is that they are now used by Community Managers to create trendy content, which makes brands look more approachable, express their personality, and why not, look more fun as well.

But be aware, memes are not suitable for all kinds of social media platforms, and sometimes you have to be somehow cautious while playing with certain topics since not everybody has the same sensibility towards them and your content could end up doing more harm than good for your social media goals.

Set your feet on TikTok

That's old news. TikTok is not going to be an exclusive trend for 2023, it is here to stay, and if you are not yet familiar with it, this is your sign to start doing so.

Long gone since TikTok was the online place where teenagers posted cringe dances (even though this is still a thing). Now it is a social network where we can find all kinds of content, and do not underestimate it, since is not only used to target a young audience.

TikTok allows you to connect in a closer and more apparently "effortless" way (even though we know it's a lot of effort) with your audience, and that’s the main reason why in Wataday4Marketing we love it.

It can also be very beneficial for SEO purposes, as these are short-form videos, which have more retention than other long video platforms such as YouTube.
